About the role

As our Senior .Net Developer, you will confidently contribute to SmartSurvey applications and services. You will be partly responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining them to a high standard. You will encourage other team members to work to the same quality standards and will help to develop and maintain a consistent, high-quality approach.

You will collaborate closely with the Product Team and Head of Technology to produce solutions and estimate the impact of any changes. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player committed to best practices is required.

SmartSurvey works with modern technologies, including dotnet core 6, Vue JS 3, containerisation, microservices, and cloud platforms. You will contribute to a very high-traffic system with plans to expand the architecture for further scaling and geo-location functionality.  

Responsibilities:

Depending on the team you work with, you will work across several different web applications, mainly in C#/dotnet core 6 but also with some legacy applications in VB.Net/WebForms.

You might also work with dotnet core microservices as well as a number of platform technologies, including Team City, Octopus Deploy, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana and Ansible, depending on your experience and interests.

Working with the relevant stakeholders, you will be expected to be able to estimate, design and implement all types of changes with minimal input from others. This will require good communication and proactivity as well as an aptitude for learning new skills and efficient debugging.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• 5 years+ in .Net with a significant amount of dotnet core experience
• Experience building .Net applications in Docker
• Experience with high throughput applications, e.g. 200K+ requests/day
  
• The ability to coordinate several related changes across multiple systems/applications without breaking the production system

Desirable (3 or more)

• Experience managing CI/CD with Devops
• Experience designing, deploying and monitoring Microservices with Kubernetes
  
• Significant SQL Server or Postgresql experience
• Experience in designing and/or managing Cloud deployments
• Experience setting up and debugging Linux systems

The ideal candidate will have startup experience, preferably with a background in tech/SaaS.
